I don't know why so many people like canned cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving, when homemade cranberry sauce is so much better. Try this recipe.
Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups fresh cranberries
1 cup water
1/2 cup maple syrup
Pinch of allspice, cinnamon, and/or orange zest
Directions
Add cranberries, water, and maple syrup to a saucepan. Turn on heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring often, for about 15 minutes until fruit is soft and sauce has thickened.
Stir in allspice, cinnamon, and orange zest, and cook several more minutes.
Cool to room temperature before serving.
It goes great with the Baked Acorn Squash with Cranberries.
