Supine Twist is done near the end of a yoga class to help calm the nervous system and to encourage a feeling of being grounded. But you can try this at the end of your hectic day to unwind before sleep. Lie on your mat and relax completely into the ground. Feel your muscles and bones dropping down into the earth. Keep the left leg straight; bend your right knee and cross it over to the left side. Keeping your torso straight, start the twist at the solar plexus and rotate up so that your neck is turned to the right. Place your left hand on the right thigh, and your right arm out in “T” position. If your right knee needs support, place a blanket under it. Hips should be stacked. Breathe and relax; and repeat on the other side.
